December 21 Tis' the SeasonWell, I have been Super Auntie the past week. I spent last Saturday and Sunday with the Koops at Katepwa and then last night was the two older girls school Christmas concert! The kids were so cute! My mom is in Regina this afternoon to shop and hang with me until Friday when we head to the farm. Dad and I will be heading out to Canadian Tire Friday night to buy the LAST Xmas tree on the lot! The Koops' will join us on Sunday and Ian and Janet will come for New Years. Good times! I can hardly wait! Have a Merry Christmas! Can you beleive I am turing 31! I sure can't! Happy New Year! God bless! December 05 Quick UpdateIn November I got to visit friends and family in Ontario and Alberta... I was out in Bramalea for Great Lakes Lectures and to do FriendSpeak training! I got to see Dima, Oksana, Alex and Olga who have just reached their 3rd anniversary of being in Canada! Now they will apply for citizenship! Yahooo! I also got to see the Strakers from Ontario and from Japan! What a cute baby! Then I was in Calgary also to do FS training. I got to stay with Jeff and Velma and saw the Muirhead gang. Then I stayed with the Watt's and saw 2 of the 3 cousins and their families. What a fun bunch of kids! My sister has receintly published a book. We went to Book and Brier for a book reading. It was fun playing backup for Sheen! Then I took my neices to Agribition and the Rodeo! Then last weekend a bunch of lady friends of mine went to Moose Jaw for a girlies weekend. On Sunday, we went for church and lunch with our new FS partners. And finally, last night, Jen, Justin and Kaden Mooney and Crystal came over for Mexican food and to set up the XMas tree. Fun had by all! November 16 Where did the time go?I guess I do have a few readers out there... so I will post some photos of our trip to the East Coast! Enjoy! October 23 Its been awhileNot sure if anyone out there is still with me...
I basically began this blog to share my summer to Tijuana... but I have just returned from holidays to BEAUTIFUL Eastern Canada so I may need to share some of the photos from my trip... but I can't today... so stay tuned!
August 14 MondayI am here in southern California... Tim, Krista and Karla went to the beach to try surfing (one of their dreams) and I am at Steve's house (missonary) getting ready for our LST EndMeeting tonight! We leave tomorrow morn... see you soon!
August 12 YesterdayLast night was our final party! :(
We had a coffee house and the coffee was so strong (I made it!) the four of us really didn't sleep very well last night! Ha!
Here is a photo of me and my readers... From left to right: Luis, me, Victor, Pascual, Ernesto and Jose at the bottom.
After the party we went to watch two of our readers who are brothers and members of the church play some amazing futball!
Man they are so good!!
Today is Saturday and we are doing final laundry, cleaning and packing. After church tomorrow, we may be heading to San Diego or on Monday, depending on when our ride decides to pick us up. Monday is our End Mtg in San Diego. We will stay overnight in a hotel and then on Tuesday morning we head to the airport to fly home... we arrive in Regina from Minn at 10:30p.m.
I may not get another chance to update... so see you soon!!
August 10 ThursdayWell this morning there is a market running up and down our street... they set up for it at about 6am... but this is the last Thursday here so its kinda sad. Last night I had my final reading session with my friend Jose. He might come tonight but I am 100% certain he will be too busy, but he is coming to our final party on Friday. It will be a coffee house! We are really excited for it. Pray that our last two days of reading will be meaningful! Its hard to get those last important conversations in, but we have been praying for God to use us to say the right things! August 09 Our last WednesdayToday is our last Wednesday away from "home"!? Tim reminded us this morning at devo that "this world is not my home!" It was a great reminder... we are so excited to see all of our friends and family at home but what a great reunion it will be when we get to heaven to see all the people from Mexico... I have so many friends from around the world that I know I may never see again here on earth, but I pray that we will meet again one day in heaven! You know how when you are meeting up with friends in a place that you have never been before and you have to come up with a central place to meet? Ok everyone... listening? The meeting place in heaven... is at the feet of Jesus! You won't be able to miss it! Corny? Maybe but I think this idea will help me leave my new friends knowing that if they keep looking and studying they will be there too!
Ok... a few pictures from this week... A few of the Bible College students and their soda!!! Eating tacos with Claudia! Yummy! August 07 Only a Week of Reading LeftI am having a hard time believing that in a week we are done! Strange! I am already missing my new friends and we haven't left yet! Strange idea, eh? God has really brought some cool people in our lives... on Friday we went with Olivia (see pictures from last weekend) to California and hung out. She and I spent the day talking and window shopping as the others went to the beach! What an amazing women she is! God is using her to talk care of her 89 year old mom and she is so good with her. Her mom has alshiemers (I know I didn't spell that correctly). Olivia reminds me a lot of my mom. Pray for her as she is struggeling with a family who is half Catholic and the other half Christian...she is seriously studying the Bible (with Karla and on her own) and knows she want to be a better person! I will post more pictures later... Love to all! A August 03 Pirates and Friends!Yesterday was our Pirate party! WE had a great time. I have had some great conversations with my readers... it always seems that once week 5 comes our conversation gets deeper b/c we know time is running out! July 31 Friday, Saturday and SundayWell on Friday we went to a city about an hour away with Karla's reader, Olivia! She is SUPER sweet wanting to help and care for us! On Saturday we went to a reader's beauty salon and had facials (no photos included, sorry). Sunday we had made Potatoe salad for potluck and it seemed to go over well! Our friends (the Bible College students) basically did church on Sunday. Here is a picture of them planning things out! Then on Sunday night we went for a tour of Tijuana with my reader Jose. We basically drove aroud for three hours taking pictures of the city. It was even more fun when Amy and Crystal called me on my cell phone and I was in the back of the truck with my head out the window trying to get better reception! Thanks girls! It was great to talk to you! See the shot of the Meriachy guys I took a picture of for you! HA! Already a GoodbyeWe had to say goodbye to our readers Saul and Arcelia! They were great people, I miss them already. Pray that God will continue to open their hearts as they read Luke on their own! Last week- Drama Party! We had a very successful Drama party last week. Many of our readers attended and had fun playing like they were children again! Last week-Arturo & LupeOur new dear friends Arturo and Lupe left on their recruiting trip accross Mexico! Please keep them in your prayers! DeannaWell, this morning Deanna left us! She had only planned to stay four weeks. We will miss her humour and her readers will miss her kindness! July 20 Cowboy PartyYesterday we had our second social! It was a success and we also picked up 10 more readers! YA Hoooo! Or should I say, Yeee Haw! I am including a picture of me and my lawyer reader... he is so interesting! He always wants to talk about social justice, policitcs that kind of stuff... fairly fun for me! Thank you for praying for us! Getting more readers really boosted our team morale! This Saturday is Omar's birthday. Omar is one of the boys from the Bible Collge. Omar is such a servant! He quietly goes around cleaning and taking care of things at the school. We have been feeding him candy and communicating with a few words in Spanish but mostly with charedes. Anyway on his birthday we are going to have a little party for him! Pinate, pop and pizza! Classic! The Mexican SunJust wanted you to see how my freckles like it here in Mexico! Sea WorldSo last weekend we went to Sea World! Here are a few favorite photos... MondayWell last Thursday's party was amazing! It was a Canada theme, so we played pin the tail on the beaver and other traditional Canadian games!?? We had a lot of fun with about 25 people. We are still needing more readers but loving the ones that are here. I have one in particular, I have mentioned him before... He is the teacher... I believe that he is truly searching! Pray! Photos to come...
Love to all from WARM Tijuana!
